Katie is interested in the parasites of ladybirds and how they interact with the invasive alien harlequin ladybird. She is also interested in citizen science and in the engagement of the public in science. She is doing a PhD at the University of Stirling, supervised by Matt Tinsley and Helen Roy.
Matt is a senior lecturer at The University of Stirling. His research focuses predominantly on host-parasite evolutionary ecology, spanning controlled laboratory systems through to natural field ecology. His work primarily involves studying insects but also includes amphibians and other invertebrates.
Helen is a principal scientist at the Centre for Ecology & Hydrology and a visiting professor with Reading University. She is a community ecologist with a particular interest in the effects of environmental change on insect communities. Helen co-leads the UK Ladybird Survey and enjoys many opportunities for outreach and science communication.
